6 Days Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi

The 6 days trip takes us to three national parks in Uganda, the national parks are all located in the southwestern part of Uganda.

Kibale national park is one of the national park most famous for the chimpanzees trekking. The park is located between 1,100 meters to 1500 meters in elevation. It’s an evergreen forest containing a landscape of both lowland and montane forest.

Queen Elizabeth national park, is a national park known for wildlife such as buffaloes, crocodiles, elephants, tree climbing lions, Nile crocodiles, and concentration of hippos. The park is a home to the 95 mammal species and over 400 birds’ species .The Park has volcanic features including volcanic cones and deep crates such as Katwe crates.

Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of the national parks, in Africa and the whole world inhabiting the mountain Gorillas. The park is situated along the Democratic Republican of Congo next to the Virunga national park on the edge of the Albertine Rift.

Our trip starts at Kibale national park to Queen Elizabeth and then Bwindi.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival at the airport, our guide will pick you up and take you through a short briefing about the whole trip and then drive you to the hotel.

Day 2:  Kampala-Kibale

After your early morning breakfast our guide will pick you up at 6:30pm, this early morning drive enables us not to encounter worth the traffic jam and also to reach early.

You will have a stopover in Fort portal, for lunch there after continue with the drive through the papyrus swamp and thick jungle of the Nile delta to Kibale national park under the Ruwenzori Mountains.

Check in at the lodge and enjoy an evening guided walk in the crate lakes area for outstanding culture visit to experience another cultural away from home.

Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

 

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking-Queen Elizabeth

After your early morning breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about chimpanzee trekking. The trek takes 30-4hours to trek through the forest with opportunities one might spot out primates such as colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, bird species, trees species and many more.

When you encounter with the chimpanzee ,your only allowed to spend one hour with them as you experience their day to day life as they swing, play ,feed on fig trees and fruits ,its such an amazing experience with the human cousin of man.

After the trek our guide will be waiting at the park headquarters to drive you back to the lodge, check out and drive to queen Elizabeth national park to catch up with the evening boat cruise for two hours to the Kazinga channel, an area most famous for the concentration of hippos, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, warthogs and many more, this gives tourists a chance to spot out a number of birds.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi

In the morning after breakfast have a morning game drive along the Kasenyi and queen miles to have an encounter with elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, water bucks, kobs and many more.

There after drive through the Ishasha sector, for chances of tree climbing lions, view of unique rift valley escarpment. Enjoy your packed lunch and then Continue driving to Bwindi arrive and check in.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking

Begin the day with a morning breakfast and get ready for the trek, which begins at 7am with a short briefing about gorilla trekking.

Note: you must pack your lunch, a bottled water, jungle shoes, rain jacket.

Meet the ranger and guide who will lead you to locate the mountain Gorillas. As you trek you might have chance to spot out the whole and black colobus monkeys, mammals such as elephants, bird species, tree species and many more.

The trek to find the gorillas is unpredictable thus one must be physical fit to trek through the steep slopes of the forest.

when you encounter with the mountain Gorillas you will be allowed to spend one hour with them as they carry out there day to day activities such as displaying their nests, playing, feeding, moving. The trip is worthy your trek an experience to encounter in your life time memory.

Have one hour in the forest for your lunch and return to the park headquarters for a gorilla ceremony and also to receive your certificate congratulating you for Gorilla trekking.

Our guide will be waiting for you to drive you back to the park headquarters for refreshment.

Have an evening cultural encounter to learn about the first people ‘Batwa’ who first lived in the forest. Enjoy an entertainment as they sing, dance, story tell.

Day 6: Bwindi-Kampala

Return to Kampala through mbarara highway have lunch at Agip motel with a stopover at Igongo culture center to explore the life style of Ankole and Bahima ,proceed and have a stopover at the Equator for some pictures at the north and south pole of the imaginary line that crosses through Africa.
